catch up!!

From our group meeting dated 10/2/11:

Intial ideas:

On reflecting our reading list I am assuming that we need to bear in mind the different factors such as:

-Intended audience
-Gallery space
-Cost
-How to sell art in todays climate etc.

Might be worth our while viewing the G15 gallery space? Im sure there will be a class visit as it would be helpful while coming up with ideas to know what size is the space is,lighting etc?

IDEAS MINDMAP:

Childhood memories-fluff and bling-toys-popart-fantasy/reality-Jake + Dino Chapman-"Bedtime Stories"-Grim fairy tales-superheroes-imaginary friends-"Drop Dead Fred"-3 part design i.e head,torso and legs-interpretations-ideal/reality-abuse-violence-alcohol-dreams-memories-"out of date"-VHS-A-tracks-tapes-B.O.B Tape drawing in his video-UN P.C Cartoons such as Tom and Jerry etc-word association-post it notes board-recreate scenes from fave films?

The word "Childhood" appears to be inspiring us the most with many ideas and thoughts about different ways we think of it,and how we can represent it.
On a personal note, I want to ensure my contribution is happy and colourful for two reasons:

-my children will be in the audience so i need to bear this in mind.

-also,i need to do something "lighter" as my last solo project/exhibition theme was quite intense and heavy.

A postive and colourful exhibtion will hopefully also ensure the audience will enjoy it!!fingers crossed!!
